Materials You will Need
You will need the following items for your Valentine Heart flower:
- Colored cardstock – you will need two sheets – one each of two different colors. Alternatively, you can use construction paper or have the children color the flower parts onto white paper instead.
- One pipe cleaner – we used green because the pipe cleaner makes the stem and leaf for the flower, but you can use whatever color you prefer.
- Scissors
- Regular tape
- Double-sided tape
Instructions for Making the Valentine’s Day Printable Craft – Valentine Heart Flower
- Print the Valentine Heart Flower printables (below) onto cardstock. Print the Valentine Heart Flower Petals on whatever color you would like the petals to be – we used pink. Print the Valentine Heart Flower Center on whatever color of cardstock you would like the center of the flower to be. Alternatively, you can print the printables onto white paper and use that as a pattern to cut the flower pieces from construction paper, or simply have your child color the parts of the flower.
- Cut out the flower pieces. If you are doing this craft with a toddler, you may need to cut the pieces out in advance. But if she is really good with scissors, let her have a go at it! It will make the craft all the more precious and sweet.

- Now form the stem and leaf of the flower. You will cut about 1/3 of your pipe cleaner off. You will use that as the leaf. Fold the small piece of your pipe cleaner in half. Make the folded end pointy by pinching it together. Twist the other end around the other piece of the pipe cleaner at about the middle. Now you have the stem and leaf. Allow your child to do as many of the steps as he is able.

- Now you can tape the stem of the flower to the circle piece. Make sure to let your little one do this step!
- Now you will use the double sided tape to attach the flower petal hearts around the circle. There are nine flower petal hearts on a sheet, but I think the flower looks best with about six of the flower petal hearts.

- Attach the I Love You heart in the middle of the flower with the double sided tape. If you don’t want the flower to say “I Love You,” you can simply turn the heart around.
- Your flower is finished! Now your child can give it as a special Valentine!

I hope you and your child enjoyed this Valentine’s Day printable craft! Thank you for visiting! I hope you come again soon!
