I really like paper crafts because they are so easy, low-mess, and inexpensive. They are a great way to practice scissor skills and fine motor skills. This cute wiggly paper panda is no exception! It is a great panda craft for kids of all ages because it’s so cute and fun! You only need a few materials for this panda paper craft, and you probably already have them at home! Read on for instructions on how to make these cute panda bears and the free template for the wiggly panda paper craft!
Materials Needed for the Wiggly Panda Paper Craft
- Wiggly Panda Paper Craft Template (find the free template below)
- White paper – card stock works best, but you can also use construction paper
- Black paper – again, I prefer card stock for this panda paper craft, but you can use construction paper if you prefer. It will just not be as sturdy.
- Googly eyes – these are optional but they add a fun touch!
- Brads – you will need 4 brads for each panda bear
- Glue – you can use a glue stick or craft glue.
- Small hole punch, sewing needle, or skewer – this is for poking the holes for the brads. A regular sized hole punch is too large for this.
Instructions for Making Your Wiggly Panda Paper Craft
- Print out the Wiggly Panda Paper Craft template (you can find it at the end of the post). You can either print the template onto regular paper and use it as a pattern to trace, or you can print the template directly onto a sheet of black card stock and a sheet of white card stock, so that you have all the panda’s pieces in the correct colors.
- Cut out the panda’s parts. Time to practice those fine motor skills! Younger kids might need some help with this step. But it doesn’t have to be perfect! I think kids’ crafts are extra cute when kids do the cutting themselves.

- Use your glue stick to glue the ears to the back of the panda’s head so the ears are mostly showing in the front.
- Glue the eye patches and nose to the panda’s face.

- Now it’s time to attach the panda’s arms and legs!
- Punch four holes in the panda’s body – two at the top if the torso below the panda’s neck for the arms, and two at the bottom of the belly for the legs. You can use a small hole punch for this (the standard size makes too large of a hole), or a sewing needle, skewer, or other sharp instrument.
- Punch a hole toward the top of each arm and leg.

- Use the point of a pencil to enlarge all of the holes. Push the pencil into the hole and turn it to kind of stretch the hole. The brads need to be able to move freely inside the holes in order for the wiggly panda paper craft to be wiggly!

- Now attach the arms and legs. Put a brad through the hole in each of the arms and legs. Feed the brad through the corresponding hole in the panda’s body. Bend the brads open over a pair of open scissors to keep the brad nice and loose the panda’s arms and legs can swing freely.
- Give the panda some eyes with googly eyes, or with a marker or crayon.

Your wiggly panda paper craft is done!
