They are easy crafts to make and can be decorated in many different ways, which makes them a great way to craft with kids of all ages. All you really need for these Easter toilet paper roll crafts is a tp roll and a little paint, so this is a really cheap craft idea. My kids and I had so much fun making these Easter crafts with toilet paper rolls and I hope you do too! Read on for the instructions and free printable template!Â
Materials for the Toilet Paper Roll Easter Bunny Craft
All you really need to make these easy Easter crafts with toilet paper rolls are toilet roll tubes and some markers or a little paint, but you can embellish them however you would like! Here is a list of materials you will need and suggested items for adding a personal touch to your toilet paper roll Easter bunnies:
- Cardboard tubes – the pattern with bent bunny ears can be made with a toilet paper roll, but the bunny with ears standing up needs a paper towel roll tube – it won’t fit on a toilet paper roll.
- Toilet Paper Roll Bunny Template – you can find the pdf below.
- Scissors
- Acrylic paint – my kids painted their Easter bunnies with white paint. We used pink, blue, and, black for the details. You can use whatever colors you would like!
- Paint brushes
- Pom poms – these are completely optional, but can add a fun touch! You can use them for the bunny’s nose and bunny’s tail.
- Hot glue gun – you only need this if you want to add pom poms, and you can use craft glue or glue dots instead (which I recommend for younger children).
- Googly eyes – also optional, but lots of fun!
- Ribbon – optional, but it adds a nice finishing touch!
- Glitter – again, this is optional, but my kids really enjoyed adding glitter to the Easter eggs on their toilet paper roll bunny! That was probably their favorite part.
- White glue – you will need this if you are using glitter.
Instructions for Making the Easter Bunny Easter Crafts with Toilet Paper Rolls
- Print the Toilet Paper Roll Bunny Template onto a piece of paper (you can find the bunny template below).Â
- Cut out the template.
- Trace the template onto a cardboard tube. You will need to flatten the cardboard tube somewhat in order to do this. If you are doing the bunny with straight ears, you will need to use a paper towel roll – a toilet paper roll is not tall enough.

- Cut out the bunny. Younger children will most likely need help with this – it’s a little tricky to cut through the thick cardboard. Older children can most likely cut it out on their own.

- Now it’s time to decorate your bunny! I will show you a couple of examples of how you can do this to give you some inspiration.
Easter Crafts with Toilet Paper Rolls – Simple Version
This version of the toilet paper roll Easter bunnies is the most simple, and the most sophisticated looking, so this is a great way to go for older children.
- After you cut out the bunny, add a little color to the inside of the bunny’s ears and to the cheeks. I used a light pink acrylic paint for this.

- Paint the Easter egg. I used a slightly off-white paint. You can also use markers or colored pencils to add the color.Â
- Let the paint dry. It should dry pretty quickly.
- Now you can decorate the Easter eggs! I used watered down pink and blue paint to make some light stripes on the egg.
- Time for the face. I watered down some black paint to make a little nose and eyes. You could do this with a marker or colored pencils if you don’t feel confident getting the look you want with paint.Â

- And for the final touch – a little bow! I used 1/8 inch ribbon to tie little bows and I glued them on with a hot glue gun.Â
Look at these little guys! I am pretty happy with how these little bunnies turned out. And they were quick and simple to do.

Now I’ll show you how my kids made their toilet paper roll bunnies.
Toilet Paper Roll Easter Bunnies – Glitter Version
- First, paint the toilet paper roll bunny and the egg (we used white paint, but use whatever color you prefer.) You will need to paint the back and the front of the bunny. If you want to keep the paint to a minimum, you can just paint the Easter egg.Â

- Let the paint dry.
- Once the paint is dry, paint the inside of the bunny’s ears with a little pink paint.

- Now you can decorate the Easter eggs!
- To do this with glitter, first paint a stripe onto the egg with a light color of white or clear craft glue.

- Now sprinkle a little bit of glitter onto the glue. Let it set for a moment, then shake the excess off onto a paper plate.
- Paint your next stripe with glue and repeat the process with the glitter.
- Keep going until you have made your desired pattern on your egg. My kids had a great time doing this. Glitter will get everywhere though – so consider yourself warned!

- Once the glitter has dried somewhat, you can add a pom pom for the bunny nose and tail. We glued the pom poms on with hot glue.
- Now for the eyes! We used the back of a paint brush to make the eyes. Dip the end of the paint brush in black paint, then press the paint brush to the bunny’s face to make an eye. Dip it again to make the second eye.

- You can also use googly eyes if you would like. That’s kind of fun!

All done!

I hope you enjoyed these fun Easter crafts with toilet paper rolls! Let me know how yours turned out!
