Fruit Matching Game for Toddlers – FREE Printable!

I don’t know about you, but I’m always on the lookout for activities to occupy my toddlers. If it holds their attention for a few minutes, it’s a win in my book! And if they learn something from it – even better! I created this fruit matching game for toddlers as a fun thing that they can do with you or independently. Your toddler can have fun matching fruits while you work with older siblings, get a chore completed, or just for fun any time! This matching game for toddlers is appropriate for children about two and up, and it’s great for practicing the names of fruits. So it’s good for language development, hand-eye coordination, shape and color recognition – all kinds of things! I love watching my little guy match up the fruit and he’s so proud of himself when he finishes! The matching game for toddlers is easy to put together – just print, laminate (or not!) cut out some pieces, and you are ready to roll!

Materials Needed for the Fruit Matching Game for Toddlers:

All you need for this is the Fruit Matching Game printable, scissors or a paper cutter, and a laminator (if you want to laminate it).

Instructions for Making the Matching Game for Toddlers:

• Print 2 copies of the Fruit Matching printable
• Laminate both copies (optional)
• Cut out the fruit squares on ONE sheet only. These will be your game cards. The other sheet will be your game board.
• Lay out the board and cards and show them to your toddler. Hand her a card, the apple for example, and ask her if she can find the apple on the board. Ask her to put the apple card on the other apple. Guide her as much as she needs until she gets the idea. She’ll probably catch on pretty quickly, and be able to do the rest herself.

You can do this activity with your toddler as a bonding and learning activity, or let her enjoy it on her own while you work with your other children, or get something else done!
